According to research conducted by the Gottman Institute, only 35% of men have emotional intelligence. The Gottman’s also found that the greatest predictor of a successful marriage is the emotional intelligence (EI) of the husband. EI is needed for husbands to share power, and if husbands are unwilling to share power, the marriage has an 81% chance of failing.
